The project

MAMIAM – for “Mama Maison Maroc” – is a project that promotes the empowerment of housewives through cooking. This startup offers an online catering service with a wide range of dishes prepared by women in difficult situations. The women are supported and trained to facilitate their professional integration and achieve financial autonomy.

The Foundation's support

Abdelkader Bensalah Foundation has been supporting the implementation of the MAMIAM project for two years. In particular, it has financed the creation of the first “solidarity cooking workshop” in Morocco, as well as the training and support of the first two groups. 

Thanks to this program, 20 women will be able to develop their culinary and managerial skills, while benefiting from advice on entrepreneurship and successful professional integration. 

The project holder

The MAMIAM project was launched in 2018 by Siham Meftahi, a young Moroccan graduate in industrial engineering from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers (ENSAM). It has won several awards including the “Start Your Project” Social Entrepreneurship Award in October 2019.

The project

Tamkeen Initiative is a project that aims to develop the entrepreneurial spirit and social innovation in Moroccan high schools. During their first year, students are invited to participate in this program, which also involves administrators, teachers and local associations. The initiative allows everyone to follow training modules and coaching sessions according to the projects they are interested in. This work leads them to develop many skills, such as creativity, innovation, problem solving, efficient communication, leadership, etc.

The Foundation's support

As a partner of MCISE, Abdelkader Bensalah Foundation contributed to the funding of Tamkeen Initiative program during the year 2019-2020. 

This support targeted 4,200 students to develop 140 projects in their schools. The program was also able to train 85 members of the administrative staff and teachers in high schools in 10 localities in the Kingdom. Finally, a national network of associations with the Tamkeen Initiative label was created, while some twenty new organisations were able to join the project.

The Moroccan Center for Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship (MCISE) is a Moroccan non-profit association, created in July 2012. With several hundred volunteers, it multiplies local, national and international partnerships to launch programs promoting innovation and social entrepreneurship in Morocco.

The project

This colony is organised to offer the children of Tamgounsa and the neighbouring regions, a real holidays. In fact, in this rural environment, young people alternate between school and the fields, without ever being able to benefit from leisure activities. This project therefore allows these children to have access to sporting, cultural and artistic activities for a few days, in an atmosphere of fulfilment.

The Foundation's support

By helping to finance this project within the framework of the Holmarcom Tadamoun program, Abdelkader Bensalah Foundation has enabled 120 children to take part in the second edition of this holiday colony.

The project holder

Tamgounsa is a non-profit association, created in 2001 by the inhabitants of this region located near Taroudant. It aims to contribute to local development by carrying out actions to support agriculture, preserve the environment and encourage solidarity.

The project

The Solidarity Forum organised in Oujda by the association Marocains Solidaires Sans Frontières aims to raise public awareness of the problems of people with disabilities. This event allows for the implementation of training workshops on the role of accessibility in the socio-educational inclusion of this population. In addition, the awareness-raising day, relayed on social networks, is also an opportunity to propose conferences on this subject, by inviting various institutional and educational actors and members of civil society.

The Foundation's support

Abdelkader Bensalah Foundation financed this action in the framework of the Holmarcom Tadamoun program. It was able to contribute to the effort to raise awareness in favour of people with disabilities in the Oujda region.

The project holder

Marocains Solidaires Sans Frontières is a non-profit association, created in Oujda in 2016. It organises and supports numerous social, cultural, educational and sporting activities in partnership with various institutions. Its objective is to contribute to the development of the region by supporting local stakeholders.

The project

The Anaïs Solidarity Gala is an event that allows us to collect the donations necessary to finance the association’s many activities. In addition, this evening is also an opportunity to raise public awareness of the problem of disability in Morocco, while presenting the projects and results obtained.

The Foundation's support

By contributing to the financing of the gala evening, Abdelkader Bensalah Foundation enables Anaïs association to receive the donations necessary for its operation.

Thus, Anaïs Early Intervention center (CIP) welcomes more than 110 babies and children under the age of 6 for therapeutic support to promote their family and social integration. Similarly, the Anaïs Ghandi specialised integration and schooling structure takes care of over 70 children. Finally, Espace Anaïs, dedicated to the training and empowerment of mentally handicapped young people, enables 100 people to be trained in cooking, catering, laundry and gardening.

The project holder

Anaïs (Association Nationale pour l’Avenir des Inadaptés Scolaires) is a non-profit association, created in 1991 and declared of public utility in 2000. It works in particular to provide psycho-pedagogical support for people with disabilities in order to promote their social inclusion. More generally, the association supports families and raises public awareness of disability issues in order to defend the rights of disabled people.

The project

This project consists of creating and running a couture training center for women from the douar Amchreg in Taroudant, who come from underprivileged backgrounds or are in a precarious situation. The initiative involves fitting out the establishment and equipping it with couture and embroidery machines, as well as setting up training workshops over a two-year period. 

In the long term, the aim is to enable the beneficiaries to develop an income-generating activity, thanks to the marketing of their products, and thus to provide for their families. In addition, this program promotes the preservation of local heritage by passing on know-how to younger generations.

The Foundation's support

Abdelkader Bensalah Foundation participated in this project through Holmarcom Tadamoun program for two years. 

Thanks to this commitment, 30 women were able to follow a training course in couture and to consider new activities.

The project holder

The association Echaraf pour le Développement et la Coopération was created in 2018 by young people from the douar Amcherg, in the province of Taroudant. Its objective is to support the economic, social, cultural and sports development of this small village. To this end, it contributes to the construction or rehabilitation of facilities, such as the mosque, the school or the irrigation system. The association also works with other organisations to promote literacy, pre-school education and Amazigh culture.

The project

The Oujda Dental Mission is a project of the association Operation Smile Morocco and supported by Abdelkader Bensalah Foundation. It consists of offering dental consultations and care to pupils aged 7 to 14, from disadvantaged backgrounds in the city of Oujda. In addition, this mission is also an opportunity to raise awareness of oral hygiene among parents and children.

The Foundation's support

Abdelkader Bensalah Foundation contributed to this project by financing medical supplies and medicines, the dental kits distributed, as well as all the costs related to the logistics of the medical team.

The Oujda Dental Mission provided 537 free dental consultations, 1,788 dental procedures and 85 surgical consultations.

The project holder

Operation Smile Morocco is part of the worldwide alliance of Operation Smile foundations. As such, it provides free care to children and adults suffering from cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities. These medical missions are carried out free of charge by teams of health professionals from Morocco and other countries. 

The association is placed under the high patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Meryem, honorary president of the organisation.

The project

The DAM Project, for the empowerment of single mothers, is a two-year program which aims to strengthen the Insaf association’s system for the professional integration of single mothers in a situation of total abandonment, through self-entrepreneurship. The aim is to accompany 80 project holders, supporting them at every stage of their journey, thanks in particular to a series of training courses and a supply of professional equipment. This approach contributes to the fight against poverty and exclusion of abandoned single mothers and their children.

The Foundation's support

Abdelkader Bensalah Foundation supports this Insaf project, alongside Mohammed V Foundation’s center for Very Small Enterprises in Solidarity and Anapec.

In 2020, daily support through entrepreneurial training, local monitoring and the provision of 80 professional kits for hairdressing, couture and cooking, will enable 80 women who were in a situation of total abandonment and without any life plans for themselves and their children to regain their self-confidence, and equip themselves to move forward in life, thereby contributing to their empowerment.

The National Institute for Solidarity with Women in Distress (Insaf) is a non-profit association, recognised as being of public utility, founded in 1999. It works to preserve and deepen the rights of women and children. Its work is based on three main themes: preventing the abandonment of children born out of wedlock, combating the exploitation of underage girls in domestic work and raising awareness of the rights of women and children.

The project

Abdelkader Bensalah Scholarships for Excellence were launched in 2018, in partnership with the Moroccan Student Foundation (FME). It is a program that offers financial and educational support to the best baccalaureate students from disadvantaged backgrounds. The young people are accompanied in their university studies, in order to facilitate their success and professional integration. And once they are integrated into the wage labor or the business world, to inspire them to become ambassadors or even leaders of social innovation projects.

The Foundation's support

Thanks to the support of Abdelkader Bensalah Foundation, scholarships for excellence have been awarded to two classes of five students in engineering and in management and business schools, from different regions of the Kingdom.

On the one hand, the Foundation provides them with financial aid for the duration of their studies, as well as computer equipment, transport allowances and health insurance. On the other hand, it also takes care of the registration, competition and school fees requested by the institutions, while offering support courses and individualised coaching. Finally, Abdelkader Bensalah Foundation also offers scholarship students an introduction to social entrepreneurship and support to encourage them to undertake social innovation. 

With this partnership, the Foundation is making a significant impact by giving these 10 baccalaureate students access to excellent training, while raising their awareness of social innovation.

The Moroccan Student Foundation (FME) is a non-profit association, created in 2001 and recognised as a public utility in 2013. Its objectives are to enable the brightest baccalaureate holders from backgrounds with limited opportunities to pursue higher education in institutions of excellence, and to accompany them until their professional integration.

The project

Mazaya is a socio-cultural program that enables school dropouts in the Rabat region to benefit from a double training, combining basic learning with an in-depth musical curriculum. Launched in 2012, this initiative aims at the socio-professional integration of young people through music. It contributes to the fight against exclusion and precariousness.

The Foundation's support

Convinced by the social and cultural impact of the Mazaya project, Abdelkader Bensalah Foundation is sponsoring two children from the program for a period of five years. It hopes to contribute fully to their education while offering them the opportunity for successful professional integration.
This support also aims to prepare these two future artists to become members of our Community of Ambassadors of Social Innovation in the fields of culture and art, among the young generations from disadvantaged backgrounds.
